What Should Be Test by Ultrasound Examinations during Pregnancy?

Pregnancy ultrasounds are performed at least three times at 10-14, 20-24 and 32-34 weeks. Each of them has its own purpose.

In the second inspection, experts pay attention to the fetal water volume, fetal size, compliance with standards, and placental status. The survey determined the sex of the child.

 In the third regular inspection, check the condition of the fetus before delivery to determine possible problems. Doctors assess the position of the fetus, check to see if the fetus is wrapped in string, and detect vices that occur during development.

In addition to regular ultrasounds, doctors can prescribe an unexpected diagnosis if deviations from the normal pregnancy or fetal development process are suspected.

Pregnancy ultrasound does not require any special training. During the operation, the woman is lying on her back. Doctors applied an ultrasound transducer lubricated with acoustic gel to her abdomen and attempted to examine the fetus, placenta and fetal water from different sides. The process lasts about 20 minutes.
